Never trust free information that is available to everyone
This information is bound to contain some bias information. If that free information would be correct, it would not be free. “There is no such thing as a free lunch”.

Research in depth
Go the extra mile. Find out the names of the key players and their current forms. Check how the team has done the last 5-10 games. What is their position in the table? Which team is in more need of points? Are there any internal quarrels or problems going on? Does one of the teams suffer from many injuries or is there perhaps a flue passing through? The more you know, the better is your basis of information that in the end helps you decide what is a good bet and what isn’t.

Take the part of the opponent
The opponent of course analyzes your team as well. What would you do if you were the opponent? If most points by your team has come from two players doing extremely well, wouldn’t you make sure to give these guys very little room to perform? This, on the other hand, may give extra room to their teammates.
The more you do this exercise, the better you will become and this information is very useful when trying to pick the winner of a game.

Analyze the odds
Sit down and really analyze the odds of the games. There is a reason why the odds are set the way they are. Try to find this reason and analyze that. Try to think like the bookies think. Can you outsmart them?
